guest appearance on studio 5: throwing the perfect baby shower

I was a guest on Studio 5, a local Utah morning TV show, last Friday and I talked about throwing the perfect baby shower. Full disclosure: the show is live and I totally froze when Brooke, the show’s hostess, asked me the first question. As soon as I looked at the cameras I couldn’t remember what I was going to say. I kind of recovered and finished both segments but I’m sad because I blanked and didn’t say a lot of the cool things that I wanted to talk about. Blogging is so much easier. And yes, it was just as scary being on TV as I thought it would be. TV people definitely have a great skill and I’m even more impressed now when I see them on TV.

Here you go if you want to read a summary of what I said on the show or watch the video clip (I still haven’t watched it because I’m too embarrassed to see myself):

For my appearance on Studio 5, I wanted to give another special thanks to these sweet ladies for helping me out:

Megan at Persimmon Floral for the amazing bouquets.
Kelly at Cakewalk Baking Company for the yummy vegan cupcakes.
Karen at Lillybelle Designs for the adorable bibs.
My mom and Eileen Romney for the cute cookies.
Sara Westbrook for the downloads and party photos.
Nicole Hill for the other party photos.
And to my parents for coming on the set with me to try to keep me calm.

Tomorrow I’ll have a giveaway of the bibs from Lillybelle Designs and the homemade banners that I used on the first segment.

I watched the whole thing and LUVED your tips!!! It took courage to step up and do something you’re not familiar with. As a former TV personality, I can tell you it’s not easy at first, but gets a little easier on each subsequent shoot.

I think you should be a regular guest on their show – you have fabulous ideas!!!

I watched the video and thought you did just fine :) Everyone watching would have been to busy focusing on the great tips you had and the cute things you set-up! You hesitated and the host jumped right back in. It seemed like natural conversation to me and made it that much more real instead of boring, scripted robots. Congrats on being on TV!

Hi Brittany ~ I can’t believe I’m just watching your TV debut!!! You were wonderful! Your tips were fantastic, and I think that there will be a lot of well-planned baby showers in the making. Thanks again for including my vintage-inspired paper dolls bib in the segment and as part of your giveaway. Your support means the world to me! ~ Karen

Being on tv is definitely nerve wracking. I think you did really well. I was on good things utah a few years ago and it is hard to think when I was looking into all those cameras. Btw, I am really enjoying reading your site. I think it is great!
