I love to give books as gifts and like to layer gifts ie if I send a French cookbook, I’ll also include a French poem or quote, maybe some chocolates, a favorite recipe …all wrapped in paper (purchased or handmade) with the Eifel Tower to further add to the experience. ☀Love your birthday card selection…seems like the older we get the less people remember our birthday ..so I always find it especially important to send out birthday cards.

I have to admit that I’m terribly indecisive when it comes to colors. I love to love colors. I also love to love neutrals. The funny thing is, it seems like, whenever I’m planning a new party or working on a room, I learn to love different colors. If it’s a green, blues, browns, party, I’m loving those. If it’s a purples, greens, ivories bedroom, I’m loving those. Etc. I read once that our psyche goes through stages of need with colors. We can love the color blue for years, and then one day, when we’ve had our fill of it, we move onto something else until that need is met (at least for the time being). And on and on it goes. I really do think this is strangely true. I think I’m most moved by the end of the rainbow color spectrum, though. Greens, blues, indigos, violets… But then there are also the yellows. Oh, how I love golden yellows… I think I also like to like different colors at different times and in different places. When I’m in a bathroom I like for things to be clean and luxurious feeling, which usually means white and chrome hardwares, and royal colored textiles. For my kitchen I like to feel warm and happy, because that’s how I feel when I’m cooking and that’s how I want my family and friends to feel when they’re there. So my colors steer more in that direction. And so on. Sorry to wax poetic. I must seem like a nut!
Moving on! My favorite number is six right now, because we are presently a family of six ;o) And, come to think of it, how often does anybody ever think of the number six as being a favorite?

Hmmm…MY favorite number is 5, I guess because that was the day I was born. However, when I played waterpolo someone (older than me) already had the number 5 chosen, so I had to be 4 (the month I was born in). Then again I really thought it was cool that my PO Box in college was 6977 (the year my brother was born 69 and the year I was born 77). So, I think I’ll go with 5…the original favorite number.
As to color…I just love color, but the one that makes my heart pitter pat is clear at sunset. It’s the orangy-yellow-pink. Mix in the blue and purple hues and it just pops. So orange-yellow?

Favorite birthday gift… I was in high school and my little brother gave me a bunch of candy bars that he had picked the chocolate off of (I know I am weird for not liking chocolate). I thought it was just the most thoughtful gift and they tasted delicious being chocolate free.
