Start spreading the news! The site redesign is finished, with a special thanks to Maddy (you might recognizer her as a founder of Nonpareil Magazine, The Inspired Bride, and Somewhere Splendid). We hope you like it as much as we do. In other exciting news, we bring to you our our newest party. We put together some fantastic ideas for a real party for one of the sweetest girls on the planet. Her one year old son is a born and bred New Yorker. So of course the party theme was a no brainer: I heart NY–but with our own custom twist. We’ll post the pictures from the actual party later, but we couldn’t resist sharing these ideas with you this week. The party details were inspired by the city, including New York Times invitations, envelopes lined with the Sunday funnies, a subway map party hat (want to make your own subway party hat? Here’s a download for that), ‘Big Apple’ party favors served in newspaper frites, and some fun books for the birthday boy. I’m gonna make a party out of it, in old New York. If I can make it there, I’d make it anywhere. It’s up to you, New York, New York.

Okay, this is beyond adorable! I am 100% obsessed with NYC, so this just makes me smile. My birthday theme last year was a NYC one, and these ideas would have been 10 times cuter! Love the new site BTW. Bravo!

Oh my! Thank you for these ideas! My baby girl was a New Year’s baby and I’d been thinking about maybe making her 1st birthday NYC-themed to tie in New Year’s, but wasn’t sure how it would all look together.
