We will, we will, rock you. “Do you have any party ideas for 12 & 13 year old boys, besides playing video games and eating pizza?” For everyone who has ever asked us this question, this party is for you. A Rock Climbing Party is great for inviting both boys and girls. And the best part is that the activities are built right in.
Even older kids like a party favor and this one rocks. Fill reusable water bottles with gum, pop rocks, cliff bars, rock candy, air heads, etc. and they’ll have something yummy for now and something cool for later. So track down your nearest indoor climbing gym and rock on.

Such a great idea!!
Great design – what an awesome party idea. Love it!

We did a rock climbing party a few years ago and it was so fun … no extra entertainment needed and such a fun theme. Our invitations were printed on tags that we tied to rocks and we had a rice krispie climbing wall for the cake. You can see it here: http://6dukes.blogspot.com/2011/02/birthday-archives-rock-climbing.html.
I love this teenage party!! So masculine and chic – perfect for those with an adventurous spirit!
I like this idea and the little goody bag. I have a teenager and bowling parties are boring for them.
Awesome idea. Love it!
Great idea! Can’t wait til my little toddlers are old enough to put this one to use.
Super cool idea! You always have such great posts! And the photos are great too!
And, as an aside- I’m an avid reader of your blog and have just started blogging myself. All the great blogs I’ve been following (yours included of course) are so inspiring! Please check out my site and follow if interested.
Thanks!
Wow that is such a cool idea!
Love it.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but the favor tags link doesn’t work. I click on the picture and it says the link wasn’t found. Maybe it’s just me!
Thanks Lynette–It’s fixed now. Refresh your screen and try it again. Sometimes those attachments are tricky. xo Brittany
We are a climbing family, you might say. Other goody bag ideas are carabiner key chains, and you can google “chocolate rocks” too. My kids aren’t old enough for this party, but there are definitely climbing parties in our future. For younger kids, they have these bouncy balls at look like rocks.
me again…you can also find or make jump ropes from climbing rope…appropriate for certain ages.

Thanks for fixing it Brittany!
Where did you purchase the reusable water bottle? I can’t find that specific one and I really like it. Thanks for the ideas.
Who invented this idea? Wow! It’s just awesome. I mean I would have never imagined a rock climbing party but now that I know about such an idea, I would like to try it out within a couple of months.
Hi! Can you please tell me where you purchased these water bottles? I cannot find them anywhere!
Thanks so much,
Mayerling
Where did you find the water bottles for this idea
Hello! I am also throwing a rock climbing party for my son. I have looked everywhere for the type of water bottles you have in the picture. Will you please let me know where you purchased them? Thank you so much!
Haley
Hi Haley–The water bottles were purchased at a store in California. Unfortunately I don’t have the exact information. I’m so sorry! xo B
I was just looking around for rock climbing invite ideas — your’s is lovely. On the water bottle question, they come from a company called ‘Nathan’.
I have one, and it’s v good!
