Some of you may be so new to our blog that you missed a few of our summer posts from last year. This one was a definitely a favorite: fabric wrapped hula hoops.

Using strips of fabric, tightly wrap an ugly hula hoop to make it cuter. Start with several long strips of fabric. Tape the first fabric strip to the hula hoop and start tightly wrapping. When the fabric ends, tape to the end to the hula hoop. Then start again, taping a new piece of fabric to the hula hoop. After all of the hula hoop is covered with fabric, go back with smaller strips of fabric and tie over the taped pieces to cover the tape and secure the fabric. The hula hoop still works. Ta Da! Have fun hula hooping.

  4. Such a precious idea. My local dollar store has hula hoops but in very loud primary colors. I think a bunch of these wrapped in cute fabric would be a great addition to any party. The kids would love it and it would add color and interest to the decor. Thanks! (I sent an email a few days ago in regards to a feature I’d like to do of your blog on my blog. Not sure if I sent it to the right email address though. I’d love to share your blog with my friends. It would be great to hear from you. Thanks again!)

  6. I wonder if it would work with patterned tape or ribbon! Probably not as cute as the fabric, but it might be a little easier to make.

  8. You can open up the hula hoop and throw some little beads in first, I always loved the ones that made noise when I was a kid!
