Fall is here, hear the yell. Back to school, ring the bell…
Numbers, letters, learn to spell. Nouns, and books, and show and tell…

It’s time for a back to school party! We’ve designed a faux dessert table for this party with the school supplies taking the cake as both the decorations and the party favors. We’ll show you the details all this week.

  1. OOOOOH~ I’ve seen this around all weekend and posted it on pinterest, along with so many others. : ) I have a teacher appreciation luncheon that I’m working on for this Friday. Hope those details come in soon!! Would love to know how to make that cake!! That would make a great raffle gift for the teachers.

  6. Adria,
Did you see the photos featured on Amy Atlas? For the cake, it shows a styrofoam cake dummy {or some stacked styrofoam discs from any craft store…or a hat box would work too} that’s about an inch or so shorter than the pencils, wrapped with 2 rubber bands around the middle, and then the pencils were tucked between the styrofoam and the rubber bands…you could also hot glue them side-by-side for extra stability. Once finished, the pencil “candles” were stuck in the middle and the top inch or so was filled with colored rubber bands. It’s so clever and adorable! I was a teacher for 10 years before I had my kids and this party makes me so excited for a new school year!! :)
