The first episode of The One Charming Party Show is live on My Craft Channel! I haven’t watched any episodes yet (I’m too nervous) but go and check it out and let me know how I did. My guest is Cheri Robinson from Simply Sweet Cakes and she’ll show you how to frost a cake perfectly and effortlessly. Cheri has made several of the cakes that we’ve used in our parties and she’s amazing.
And Cheri has agreed to share her delicious frosting recipe with us (she makes it sound so easy).
Simply Sweet Buttercream
1 cup Salted Butter
1 cup Crisco
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
6 cups powder Sugar
2 Tablespoons Milk
Add ingredients in order. Beat in mixer all together for about 3 minutes on med speed till light and fluffy.
I’d also like to thank Gygi’s for sponsoring this episode and donating so many of the awesome gourmet kitchen supplies that we used. Right now Gygi’s is having a Guest Posting Contest. To enter, submit your Halloween treats that you have created with any of their products.
Have a great weekend!

You did great!! Really helpful tips, too.
You’re amazing!!! It turned out great! Love you!
I think you did a great job….I learned a few new tips that I didn’t know before.
How fun. I think you kind of look like Zooey Deschanel when you talk.
You did sooooooo awesome! You are so beautiful, and you don’t seem a bit nervous.
Ps thanks for letting people know about the contest.

Ha! I used to drive myself crazy trying to smooth the frosting all the way out with a palette knife. Love, love, LOVE the laminated card/spritz bottle trick. Thank you both. I loved the show!
Whoops! Just remembered two questions I had: Did Cheri add the sprinkles before/after she piped the border; and, did she shake off the excess sprinkles or just fill in thinner spots?
Thank you!
Great video, had my attention from start to finish. You did good! Very helpful tips and you asked all the right questions us amateurs need to know!

Hi Stephane in Alaska–I emailed you but I thought I’d still post it here. Cheri told me this about the sprinkles on the cakes: “I piped the border after I added the sprinkles and I used my laminated card to push around and smooth the sprinkles on top. I didn’t shake them off. Hope that helps!” xo
