Day 5: My kids are just as excited about what’s in their stocking as the presents under the tree. Santa always does a great job with the stocking stuffers, putting an extra, unexpected surprise in there like a small toy or a gift card. My husband always got a banana or an orange and a big candy cane in his stocking when he was growing up so we like to carry on that tradition. I always had candy and usually a small piece of jewelry that my mom had picked out for me. What does Santa leave in your kids’ stockings?

I love your new format! And I love all your parties!
I almost forgot – Santa always puts the Barbie Celebration Christmas ornament in my daughters stocking!
Various small stuff. For the kids there are art supplies, toothbrushes, small books, hair accessories and match box cars, as well as candy. For mom and dad, usually small gadgets, like the adorable set of nesting dolls measuring cups I got last year, or a new wrench to replace the one lost from the set. Occasionally there is a gift card for a favorite hobby store. A couple of years ago my husband attached a string to one of the stocking gifts that lead me to the fridge, to reveal that he had sropped by my favorite ethnic deli and picked out all the goodies that we occasionally indulge in
we always got a small Lego set in our stocking along with a new toothbrush, a dime, & an orange. we of course got candy.
My daughter is a teenager, so Santa usually leaves her a pair of earrings or a necklace, candy/gum, a cd, little toys and what ever other little treasures I can find for a dollar or two.
@Cecilia – that was sweet of your husband to give you that gift.
We always do a chocolate orange and each person gets their fave candy (there are only just the three of us, so that’s easy) My little girl is getting play jewelry, a multi colored pen, nail polish and a movie. P.S. where did you get the cute little boxes, I can’t seem to find any for her jewelry.
Hi Andrea–I got the boxes at a local craft store called Ben Franklin. xo
