Line the kids’ table with colored paper strips corraled in jars or cans to create a centerpiece, activity and favor — all in one. While waiting for the feast to begin, have children write 25 things they are thankful for on paper strips. Staple or tape together to make a Christmas countdown chain for December. Send each child home with their own advent chain.

  2. I’ve been trying to think of something special I can do with my piano students in preparation for Thanksgiving, and now I have it. I can line the papers up on top of the piano and have them write what they’re thankful for before each lesson! After Thanksgiving, I can put the chain on the small Christmas tree that will adorn the piano! Oh, I love this idea! Thank you!!!
