Rather than games, encourage guests at the baby shower to craft together. You can create a whole set of hand-painted blocks for the new baby’s nursery with this easy alphabet blocks diy.

TO MAKE: Before the party apply vinyl letter stickers to four sides of 2-inch, pine blocks. Set out the unfinished blocks along with acrylic paint and plenty of foam brushes. To help guide guests, display our free printable block craft directions signs on the table with the craft supplies. Use tweezers to remove the letter stickers once paint has dried. If desired, after the party seal the blocks with a clear coating.

  1. What a great idea! Baby showers can be so boring – with the same silly games being played over and over again. This looks like fun!

  4. Hi Sarah,

We cut our letter stickers on a vinyl cutting machine. You could do the same thing with a Cricut or Silhouette craft cutter. I have also seen vinyl letter stickers pre-cut at craft stores like Hobby Lobby, in which case you could just buy blocks in a different size that suits the sticker size. I hope this helps!

  5. What size letters do you cut for the 2″ blocks when using something like a Cricut or having the letters cut by someone else?

  6. Hi Nichelle, I think our letters were about 1.5 inches tall.
