One smart cookie teacher gift. We are all grateful when our kids come home from a day at school with new facts or a math problem to show us — because in the end we all have a smart cookie of a child. Show your appreciation for the teachers that are helping your smart cookie learn with a package full of cookies!
You will need: 6 inch square paper, 6 inch square parchment paper, smart cookie printable (see download button below), sticker paper, cookies
Directions: First, print out the smart cookie labels on sticker paper. Cut out the labels and set aside. Stack a square piece of parchment paper on top of a square piece of paper. Place a cookie on the parchment paper and fold the corners into the middle. Take the smart cookie label and stick it onto your wrapped cookie to hold the paper and parchment paper in place. You can also use washi tape to hold the paper closed if you are giving more than one wrapped cookie to a teacher.
This is sure to be a gift to make the teacher smile as well as enjoy. Thanks for making me one smart cookie!
If you need some apple centerpiece ideas for your next fall bash, I have few for you today. An apple tower, a mini apple vase, and you can always incorporate a few apples into your arrangement using fresh apples and a large floral pick.
Apple Tower Instructions You will need: a wooden dowel for each tower (1/2″ or 3/4″ or just slightly smaller than the diameter of your apple corer), a flat wooden square for each tower, paint (if desired), wood glue, apples, apple corer
1. Drill a hole into a flat wooden square (the same diameter as the dowel)
2. Cute dowel to desired length
3. Insert dowel into hole and secure with wood glue
4. If desired, paint the dowel and square
5. Let dry
6. On the day of, core apples with apple corer
7. Spritz with lemon juice to prevent browning (although you can’t see it if they do brown)
8. Stack apples onto dowel
9. For the top apple, do not core all the way through, only half way. That way you have a whole looking apple on top
Apple Vase Instructions You will need: apples, flowers, apple corer
1. Create small hole in apple (on top or to the side)
2. Find a small hardy bloom (daisies work great!) and cut stem short
3. Place bloom in hole
A few tips: Create apple vases right before event to keep them looking fresh. Try a brightly painted base or plain wood base. You can use any number of fruits or a variety. Reuse the dowels for multiple parties.

Ever since I saw these awesome boots on Steph of Crafting in the Rain, I’ve wanted to make a pair. But it’s still a little hot for boots around here, so I thought I’d try this out with some shoes. I have four kids so Back to School comes with a little bit of stress. Especially buying new shoes for everyone. And with 3 girls, they always want a variety to match their outfits. Here’s an easy solution for extending the wear of older shoes or taking advantage of those discount shoes. It doesn’t matter what color the shoes are, we’re going to cover them up.
2. Remove any bows or other items that will impede sticking the tape to the shoe.
3. With the contrasting tape, highlight any special features of the shoe. This shoe had cool stitching on the back.
4. Using one continuous piece, stick a long piece of patterned duct tape to bottom edge of the shoe. Start and end at the back. This will create a cute ruffle.
5. Gently press the ruffle down to stick to the shoe. Trim the tape in the back to match up.
6. Cut the contrasting tape to a thinner width to create a nice trim on the edge the shoe. I followed the natural lines of the original stitching.
Finish off the shoe with a bow tied from satin ribbon. Hot glue the bow to the toe of the shoe.
